JetBrains released Mellum 2.1, a 12-billion-parameter mixture-of-experts model under Apache 2.0 license designed for coding agent workloads. The model contains 2.5 billion active parameters and achieved a SWE-bench Verified score of 47.0 after reinforcement learning training on real repositories, up from 2.0 on the previous version (MarkTechPost). The release targets developers building local and self-hosted coding automation systems.
Google Cloud launched agentic capabilities for Gemini, enabling the model to plan, execute tasks, and work across enterprise business applications and systems. The Gemini agent can delegate work to subagents, use multiple AI models, and receives its own workplace identity including an email address (TechCrunch). In parallel, Anthropic announced two new beta features for Claude: Dashboards converts data sources like BigQuery and Snowflake into live dashboards from text prompts, while Motion generates animated explainer videos from text and images, with Docs, Slides, and Design now available across all plans including free accounts (The Decoder).
